The Universidad Politécnica de Valencia(UPV) is located in the north-west part of Valencia (Spain) at only 1 km to the sea. Although the UPV was officially created in 1971, some of its institutions are working for more than one century. This is the case of the Higher Technical School of Design Engineering of Valencia (ETSID) where this Master takes place.
The UPV accounts with more than 42000 members with 37800 students, 2600 teachers and 1700 administration and other services staff divided into 15 university centres and four different campuses. The UPV is a public dynamic and innovating institution focused on research and teaching, and with a high social compromise with its environment. The strategies of UPV also include a strong relation with the industrial sector as well as an important exchange policy with other European and non-European universities.
The Higher Technical School of Design Engineering of Valencia (ETSID) is situated into the Campus de Vera of the UPV. The Higher Technical School of Design Engineering, previously known as the School of Industrial Engineering) has a 150 years tradition in teaching and innovating
The school has suffered constant changes since it was first created in 1852, and now it is placed in the Polytechnical University of Valencia, in the Vera Campus, sharing all the facilities of one of the most important Spanish universities.
Teaching of these degrees includes the participation of more than 25 departments. In order to achieve the quality compromises in teaching, the School of Design Engineering has an important infrastructure, covering all the needs in technical learning and research, comprising lecture theatres, multimedia theatres, training studios, laboratories, conference rooms, a library, a solar energy station and a toy museum.
